Thompson & Co Outdoors is looking for a skilled Welder Fabricator to join our team in Bayswater North. This is a full time, hands-on role in a small workshop where the work is varied, the standards are high, and your output genuinely matters.
MIG welding up to 6mm is the minimum requirement.
Minimum 5+ years of MIG welding experience is required.
What you'll be doing
- Fabricate Corten steel products and architectural components to tight tolerances using MIG welding, grinder, press brake, guillotine, plate roller, and cold saw.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication specs
- Operate all workshop equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organised work area
- Work alongside the wider shop & build team to hit deadlines and deliver to spec
What we're looking for
- Formal qualifications in welding or fabrication, or solid equivalent experience
- Solid equivalent experience must be 7+ years of general welding and fabrication work.
- Strong practical MIG welding and metal fabrication skills
- Knowledge & experience working with Plate Rollers & Press Brake
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately
- Comfortable working with thin-gauge sheet metal and architectural finishes — where presentation matters as much as structural integrity
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Valuable communication and the ability to work well in a small team
- Valid driver's licence
