At the City of Armadale, we’re transforming how our community connects with information and services. As our Website Developer, you’ll play a key role in building reliable, accessible and user friendly digital platforms that support residents, businesses, visitors and staff every day.

This is a hands on, creative and technically varied role where your work directly improves how people interact with the City online. You’ll help us evolve our website, intranet and digital platforms so they’re easy to use, technically sound and aligned with best practice. You’ll work closely with ICT, Digital Services, Marketing and business areas to turn ideas into practical solutions, improve user experience and support the City’s move toward more efficient, automated and accessible service delivery.

About the Role

As the City’s Website Developer, you will design, build and maintain digital platforms that keep pace with community needs and support the organisation’s digital transformation.
In this role, you will:

- Develop and enhance digital platforms across the website, intranet and CMS.
- Build forms, features and applications that improve access to information and services.
- Use modern coding, APIs and integrations to extend and connect systems.
- Apply version control and CI/CD to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.
- Maintain and support platforms including SharePoint Online.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across platforms and integrations.
- Ensure accessibility and content quality through WCAG 2.2 and governance standards.
- Advise on UX, design and best practice solutions for business areas.
- Identify opportunities for automation and AI to improve digital services.




- Contribute to digital strategy with the Digital Platforms Lead.

Your work will help the City deliver digital services that are modern, accessible and genuinely useful to the community.

About You

You’re someone who enjoys solving problems, improving user experience and building digital solutions that make life easier for others. You bring technical capability, curiosity and a collaborative mindset.
You will thrive in this role if you:

- Have experience in website design and development in a complex or corporate environment.
- Have experience with SharePoint Online and/or Drupal or similar CMS.
- Understand REST APIs and integrations.
- Use version control and modern deployment practices.
- Apply accessibility standards to ensure inclusive digital content.
- Communicate clearly with non technical stakeholders.
- Enjoy improving systems, processes and user experience.
