About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our growing team based in Sydney Olympic Park.

Reporting directly to the Director, this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business while working closely with our construction, estimating, contracts administration, and sales teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely processing of invoices, subcontractor payments, client progress claims, and project cost tracking across multiple residential construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the residential building industry who enjoys working in a quick-paced environment and wants exposure to all aspects of construction finance and project administration.

Candidates must have existing Australian work rights at the time of application.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & Compliance

- Process fortnightly payroll.
- Manage PAYG withholding, superannuation, workers compensation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting.
- Maintain employee leave registers and payroll records.

Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and issue client invoices and progress claims.
- Process receipts and maintain debtor records.
- Prepare customer statements and aged receivables reports.
- Follow up outstanding payments.

Accounts Payable




- Process supplier invoices and subcontractor claims.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations.
- Manage payment schedules and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Maintain accurate creditor records and supporting documentation.

Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare month-end and year-end financial report.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Reconcile Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts.
- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of quarterly BAS.
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis for Directors.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities.

Construction Administration
- Provide administrative support to Project Managers, including progress claims and project cost tracking.
- Maintain registers of contracts, variations, purchase orders, invoices, and project documentation.
- Assist with contract administration and document control for residential construction projects.
- Maintain the company's asset register.

Office Administration
- Manage general office administration and operations.
- Coordinate office supplies, stationery, and other business purchases.
- Support the Project Director and Management Team with administrative requirements.
- Ensure company records and documentation are maintained accurately and efficiently.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

- Previous experience within a residential building, construction, or property development environment.
- Strong attention to details




- Strong understanding of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, BAS, and financial reporting.
- Experience with construction progress claims and project-based accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Databuild and Onsite Companion software will be highly regarded.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Team player and ability to work without supervision
- High degree of initiative, taking ownership of issues, and demonstrate a "can do" attitude
- Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required.
- Certificate IV in Accounting is the minimum educational qualification required.
