Banyo Cafe and Bar is owned and operated by the University of Queensland Union. We run a variety of outlets and services across UQ’s St Lucia, Gatton, Herston, and Dutton Park campuses, with Banyo Cafe & Bar being our only outlet that is located at a different university!
The Opportunity
We’re looking for enthusiastic, personable, and reliable Front & Back of House Attendants to join our team at Banyo Café & Bar. This role would be ideal for an ACU student looking for a casual role between uni work!
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering friendly and efficient customer service to the ACU community;
- Clearing tables and maintaining a clean and tidy dining area;
- Serving food and beverages quickly, courteously, and professionally;
- Supporting the kitchen team with food prep (sandwiches, salads, hot meals);
- Stock rotation, control, and assisting with stocktakes;
- Maintaining exceptional presentation and cleanliness standards across service areas; and
- Following standards and best practices regarding Food Safety and WHS to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic workplace.
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 1 year of customer service experience;
- Experience with POS Systems (e.g. SwiftPOS), EFTPOS, and cash handling;
- A team-player attitude and willingness to support both front and back of house;
- Barista experience (highly regarded, but not essential).
