We're looking for a Pre-Sales Consultant to own the technical sales process and commercial conversations across our managed services business — putting together new MSAs, reviewing MSA renewals for profitability, identifying opportunities to move clients onto relevant bundles, and presenting those recommendations clearly to the client. You'll also manage renewals and quotes for existing clients, such as Microsoft 365 subscriptions, software renewals, warranties, and practical PC replacement bundles, while having the commercial conversations needed to move opportunities forward.

About the Role

This is a pre-sales / technical sales role inside our MSP. You'll own the technical scoping, quoting, commercial conversations, and follow-through across our existing customers and any new opportunities. You'll be the person who makes sure proposals are commercially sound, renewals are run early and profitably, quotes go out quickly and consistently, orders are placed, and the right internal tickets/tasks are created so the technical team can deliver without delays. We also want someone with genuine commercial sense. If you think our MSAs need a rework, tell us. If you think we're leaving margin on the table, tell us. If you think our quoting, renewals, or commercial processes can be improved, tell us. We're not looking for someone who just runs the current playbook — we want someone who helps us make it better.

You won't be expected to have Level 3 engineering knowledge, but you do need enough technical understanding to confidently and concisely talk with our team, our clients, and our suppliers. When you don't know something, you'll have direct access to the technical team and the Director — we'll teach you what you need and join key meetings when required — but you must have a decent base, as well as the capacity, curiosity, and desire to learn so you keep improving and become more independent over time.

We want someone who stays across things end-to-end.



You'll manage your own pipeline, schedule your own follow-ups, and keep deals and renewals moving without being chased.

Key Responsibilities

Managed Services Agreements (MSAs) & Commercial Model

- Prepare new managed services agreements, including the recommended support model (per-user, per-device, bundles, hybrid etc), inclusions, scope, pricing, and commercial assumptions.
- Review and manage the renewals to confirm profitability, current scope, user/device counts, included services, and any required price or structure changes.
- Present MSA recommendations clearly to clients, explaining the business case, not just the inclusions.
- Identify opportunities to improve our MSA structure, pricing logic, or commercial terms, and bring those ideas forward.

Renewals, Licensing, Cross-Sell & Account Growth

- Manage other renewals such as Microsoft 365, backup, security tools, warranties, and other recurring services.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing clients where they improve standardisation, security, reliability, productivity, or overall client outcomes.
- Explain recommendations clearly to clients, including the commercial reason, business value, and next steps.

Quotes, Ordering & Handover

- Prepare accurate, commercially sound quotes for client requirements, including practical replacement bundles such as PCs, docks, monitors, peripherals, and warranties.
- Coordinate supplier pricing, availability, lead times, alternatives, ordering, and internal handover so approved work can proceed without missing information.
- Make quotes easy for clients to understand, with clear inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and next steps.

Project Commercial Support

- Support client conversations on project scope, hours/effort, and expectations.
- Manage scope creep commercially — get approvals before extra work happens.
- Keep projects commercially tidy so there are no surprises at the end.

Process & Execution

- Manage quote follow-ups, renewal timelines, order handovers, and internal coordination so opportunities keep moving.
- Keep client notes, quote records, and commercial information accurate in our systems.
- Create clear internal tickets or handover notes so the technical team can deliver without needing to chase missing information.





What We're Looking For

Experience and Capability

- Direct experience in an MSP, IT services provider, IT reseller, or similar recurring-services environment. This role requires someone who understands managed services, renewals, quoting, and client commercial conversations.
- Experience preparing IT quotes or proposals across managed services, Microsoft 365 licensing, hardware bundles, renewals, or account growth opportunities.
- Confidence discussing price, scope, renewals, inclusions, value, and next steps with clients.
- Enough technical understanding to work independently on standard opportunities, while knowing when to bring in engineering support for more complex design work.
- Strong organisation and follow-through — you manage your own pipeline, follow-ups, renewals, and open opportunities without needing to be chased.
- Commercial sense — you can spot margin issues, account growth opportunities, and process improvements, and you are comfortable bringing ideas forward.
- This role suits someone looking for a hands-on pre-sales role inside an MSP, rather than a pure new-business hunter role, general account management role, or role where the technical team does most of the quoting.

Eligibility

- Full working rights in Australia.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Comfortable working from our West Footscray office, with client visits across Melbourne as required.
