About the role

We are seeking a General Factory Hand (Door/Timber Picker) to join our team on a casual basis working the morning shift at our Dandenong South facility in Victoria. This is a hands-on warehouse and factory position where you will play an essential role in our picking, manufacturing and distribution operations. You will be responsible for efficiently selecting and preparing timber and door products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and maintaining safety standards throughout your shift. This role is integral to maintaining our delivery schedules and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

1. Pick and retrieve timber and door products from warehouse storage areas according to customer orders and specifications

2. Accurately match products to order documentation and ensure correct quantities

3. Pack and prepare items for shipment using appropriate materials and methods

4. Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks (as required and where trained)

5. Maintain accurate records of picked and packed items

6. Keep work areas clean, organised and protected, adhering to all health and safety protocols

Stack and organise products in designated warehouse locations

8. Support team members and contribute to meeting daily production and distribution targets

9. Report any damaged stock or safety hazards to supervisory staff immediately

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience in warehousing, picking, packing or general factory work (desirable but not essential)

2. Ability to lift and carry heavy items regularly, with good physical fitness and stamina

3. Attention to detail and accuracy when picking and matching orders

4. Reliability and a commitment to attending shifts on time

5. Basic numeracy skills for reading orders and checking quantities

6. Willingness to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

7. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

8. Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (advantageous)

9. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
