We are a private specialist orthopaedic practice focused on upper limb orthopaedics. Established in 2020 and are now the largest upper limb focused orthopaedic practice in Victoria.
**The Role**
This is a full-time Surgeon Support Nurse (EN or RN) role at Melbourne Shoulder & Upper Limb. The position is based in Melbourne, VIC, and involves onsite work aligned with the surgeons consulting sessions across the following locations (primarily, but not limited to):
- Mulgrave
- Clyde
- Glen Iris
There is also the opportunity to work from home.
The Surgeon Support Nurse is responsible for managing all aspects of the patient journey in relation to their surgical specialist. You will work closely with two orthopaedic surgeons based in Melbourne’s South Eastern regions and be an integral part of a broader team of six orthopaedic surgeons.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Building and maintaining patient relationships
- Front-of-house duties during consulting sessions
- Managing follow-up documentation
- Coordinating surgery bookings
- Preparing and managing theatre lists
- Liaising with theatre teams and managing theatre schedule changes
- Overseeing surgical documentation and payments
- Coordinating post-operative care
- Managing surgeon report requests
- Responding to complex patient queries
- Leading the patient journey with a positive, compassionate, and skilled approach
- Hands on wound management
**About You**
Essential Experience & Skills:
- EN or RN qualified
- Experience with surgical bookings (private or public sector)
- A positive, “ray of sunshine” attitude
- Strong technical proficiency
- Excellent work ethic
- Strong administrative and organisational skills - a lover of admin!
