We are recruiting a Head Barista / Supervisor for our flagship Cheltenham cafe; a busy and growing cafe located on site with our roastery in the Western suburbs of Adelaide. As our Head Barista Supervisor, you will be the lead barista on shift and the person who sets the tone for coffee quality, workflow and service standards. You’ll train new baristas, maintain our barista systems, and supervise weekend operations.
About the role and opportunity:
This is a new leadership role in our business and is suited to someone who genuinely loves hospitality, who brings positive energy to a busy and dynamic café environment, and who takes pride in ensuring smooth day to day operations, developing strong teams and a high performing service culture.
The role is offered as a full-time annualised salary (0.8 FTE negotiable) and will provide a minimum of one weekend shift per week (higher salary applicable if covering Saturday and Sundays) and public holiday coverage.

With new sites and opportunities emerging, no two weeks look the same and we’re looking for a dynamic team player who is excited grow with us and play a key role in shaping the next chapter of our Cheltenham cafe and broader business.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead daily barista operations including dialling in, workflow management, open and closing procedures, and quality control.
- Train new baristas and supervise staff whilst developing skills, confidence and consistency across the team.
- Maintain barista standards and implement processes to ensure consistent service expectations and operational efficiencies.
- Supervise shifts, leading team organisation and duty allocation to ensure smooth service and operations.
- Contribute to All Rounder duties including service and food support.
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal offerings.
- Assist the Cafe Supervisor and Management with stock inventory and ordering, and equipment care.
- Support catering and event operations across the business as required. Uphold food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
- Provide weekend (minimum one weekend shift) and public holiday coverage (note, we only open select public holidays).
- Drive new opportunities for the Cheltenham site including but not limited to bringing fresh ideas and leading engagement with our customers and community.
What we're looking for:
- Genuine passion for hospitality - someone who truly enjoys specialty coffee and customer connection.
- Solid barista capability - with experience, knowledge and confidence in high‑volume specialty coffee.
- People‑focused leadership - a natural leader who enjoys coaching, developing and supporting others (previous café leadership experience preferred)
- Calm, solutions‑driven approach - works steadily under pressure, leads by example,
and helps build a strong service and team culture grounded in customer and community connection.
- High standards mindset - consistently maintain quality and operational standards.
- All rounder versatility - comfortable working and contributing to an All Rounder environment.
- Flexibility - available for a Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday roster (alternative options negotiable including 0.8FTE).
- Weekend commitment - at least one weekend shift, with high salary for Saturday and Sunday coverage.
