About the Role
Team Leader – Ryde Library
The role is full‑time, 35 hours per week, based at the central Ryde Library located in the Top Ryde City Shopping Centre. It involves leadership of staff and day‑to‑day library operations, ensuring a high quality service for all community members.
Salary: $90,631.34 to $99,062.16 p.a. + Superannuation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Library Management Team, supporting people management processes.
- Lead and supervise lending services, including staff rostering.
- Manage the service desk and customer experience to maintain high satisfaction.
- Maintain appearance, safety and facility standards.
- Collaborate with other library teams to ensure service consistency and drive innovations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
- Contribute to senior management in improving service delivery and strategic direction.
- Represent the library in community engagement and outreach activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent recognised by ALIA, or a related field with significant public library experience.
- Minimum 2 years of people management and supervisory experience in a public library or similar environment.
- Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal, problem solving and complaint handling skills.
- Experience in process improvement and leading change.
- Current Working with Children check and Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Strong understanding of current trends and issues in the library industry.
- Knowledge of EEO principles and the Privacy and Information Act.
- Experience in a cross‑cultural customer service environment.
