IT Operations Officer – Brisbane (Fortitude Valley) or Gold Coast (Varsity Lakes)

NCH Software is a global software company with offices in Brisbane, Canberra, and Denver USA, and teams across Costa Rica, the Philippines, India, and other locations around the world. We're looking for someone who takes pride in keeping the business running behind the scenes. This is a full time in-office position in Varsity Lakes (or Brisbane Fortitude Valley if your prefer)

This is a practical, no-nonsense role for someone who has a solid IT foundation and the drive to keep growing. You'll work across hosted infrastructure, email systems, network services, and day-to-day staff support, picking up new skills as you go. We’re looking for someone who's curious, takes ownership, and leaves things better than they found them.

Essential Skills

- Some solid hands-on experience in IT or a related role
- Deep understanding of the internet
- Ability to use terminal shell or command line tools
- Able to manage your own time, stay on top of priorities, and follow through on tasks
- Explicit communicator who can translate technical issues into plain language for non-technical colleagues
- Tidy documentation habits - if you fixed it, you wrote it down

Desirable Skills (not essential, but please mention in your cover letter)

- Hosted server management across platforms such as AWS, GCP, VPS, or dedicated environments




- Windows and Linux administration, including MySQL, firewalls, SSL, Apache, and HTACCESS
- Business email management - spam filtering, deliverability, and sender reputation
- Domain and IP management, including shared and dedicated IPs, reputation monitoring, and blacklist resolution
- Familiarity with automation tools or scripting
- Exposure to AI or workflow automation initiatives
