About the role
Suspensions West is an independent mechanical business supporting Paull and Warner Accident Repair Centre Belmont. We are seeking a skilled Suspension/Mechanic to join our team in Belmont WA 6104. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing vehicle suspension systems and performing general mechanical work to the highest standards. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex mechanical issues, performing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering exceptional accident repair and maintenance services to our customers.

Key responsibilities

1. Diagnose and repair suspension systems, including springs, shock absorbers, struts, and steering components

2. Perform general mechanical maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including engine work, braking systems, and fluid services

3. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify mechanical and structural issues

4. Use diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately assess vehicle conditions and determine repair requirements

5. Maintain detailed work records and documentation of all repairs and services completed

6. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications

7. Communicate effectively with customers and management regarding repair timelines and costs

8. Keep work area clean and organised, maintaining a safe workshop environment

9. Stay current with industry developments and new repair techniques relevant to suspension and mechanical systems

What we're looking for

1.



Formal qualification in automotive mechanics or suspension work, such as a Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent

2. Proven experience working as a mechanic or suspension specialist, preferably with accident repair or fleet maintenance background

3. Strong knowledge of suspension systems, steering components, braking systems, and general automotive mechanics

4. Proficiency in using mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop technology

5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

7. Valid driver's licence and willingness to undertake test drives

8. Strong communication and customer service skills

9. Current or willingness to obtain appropriate workplace certifications and licenses as required

10. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work, including working at heights and in various positions
