We are seeking a motivated and capable Senior EconomicDevelopment Officer – Regional to join Council on a 2-yearcontract .

This is a unique opportunity to work on meaningful regionaldevelopment outcomes across the Toowoomba Region — supporting smalltown revitalisation, place-based economic development, communityresilience and major project initiatives.

You will help shape and deliver initiatives that strengthenlocal economies, support regional capability and ensure growth ismanaged in a way that delivers lasting value for communities.

A significant component of the role involves supporting Counciland communities through the rapid growth of the renewable energysector, including social impact and governance processes, communitybenefit frameworks, stakeholder engagement, reporting andcoordination activities, and legacy initiatives designed to deliver long-term regional benefit.

This role provides an opportunity to work directly withcommunities to identify opportunities, support economicdiversification, strengthen local leadership and help shape thefuture of towns experiencing significant economic and socialchange.

Working under limited direction, you will provide advice,reporting, coordination, facilitation and analysis across a rangeof regional development and major project initiatives. The rolerequires sound judgement,



strong stakeholder capability and theability to operate effectively across complex governance, communityand industry environments.

You are a thoughtful and adaptable professional who enjoys working in environments where community, industry and economicchange intersect.

You may come from a background in:

- economic development
- planning
- infrastructure
- sustainability
- public policy
- major projects
- a related field.

Most importantly, you bring:

- strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
- sound judgement and initiative
- the ability to work collaboratively across diversestakeholder groups
- strong communication and analytical capability
- a genuine interest in helping regional communities thrivethrough periods of growth and transition.
