Are you passionate about food and early childhood education? Your journey begins here as a Kitchen Hand at Guardian Altona North! This part-time position offers 20 flexible hours per week, allowing you to contribute to the growth and development of young children.

**About the Role**: As a Kitchen Hand, you will work alongside our Chef to create delicious and nutritious meals and snacks for children and educators. You will also engage with the children during food preparation, fostering their curiosity and helping them learn about healthy eating, gardening, and recent flavors.

**The Centre**:



Our Altona North childcare center is conveniently located, providing a warm and inviting space for children to learn and grow. With well-designed indoor and outdoor play areas, our center encourages exploration and creativity.

**The Opportunity**: In collaboration with our Chef, your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting in the preparation of nutritious and appealing meals and snacks.
- Catering to individual dietary requirements related to medical conditions, preferences, and cultural considerations.
- Building strong relationships with the Chef, children, educators, families, and the wider center community.
- Upholding best practice food safety and hygiene standards.

**To Be Considered, You Will Have**:

- A Food Handling Certificate.
- A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable).
- Awareness of personal responsibilities under current Child Protection Laws.
- A current Working with Children Check or state equivalent.
- Fine with 20 hrs
