FoodWorks Brendale is a locally operated supermarket located within the Brendale 7 Day Shopping Centre on Kremzow Road, Brendale. The store provides customers with convenient access to everyday groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, pantry staples, snacks, beverages, frozen foods and a range of household essentials. With a strong focus on friendly local service, product freshness and customer convenience, FoodWorks Brendale supports the daily and weekly shopping needs of the surrounding community. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has strong retail leadership skills, understands supermarket operations, and can confidently manage staff, stock, customer service, sales performance and day-to-day store standards.

Retail Manager | FoodWorks Brendale - Brendale, QLD

Key Responsibilities

- Managing the day-to-day operations of the supermarket, ensuring the store runs efficiently, professionally and in accordance with business objectives.
- Overseeing products ranging across key supermarket categories, including fresh produce, grocery items, dairy, meat, frozen foods, snacks, drinks, bakery, deli and other convenience lines.
- Monitoring stock levels, product availability and shelf presentation to ensure customers have access to fresh, well-presented and appropriately stocked items.
- Coordinating ordering and purchasing activities with suppliers to maintain sufficient inventory, reduce wastage and support changing customer demand.
- Reviewing sales trends, customer preferences and seasonal requirements to assist with product selection, promotions and stock planning.
- Implementing pricing, promotional and marketing strategies to support sales growth, catalogue offers,



in-store specials and local customer engagement.
- Promoting the store’s goods and services through attractive displays, signage, specials, social media updates and community-focused marketing initiatives.
- Providing high-quality customer service, assisting customers with product enquiries, and ensuring staff maintain friendly and professional service standards.
- Supervising staff across store operations, including registers, shelf replenishment, stock handling, customer service, cleaning and opening or closing duties.
- Assisting with recruitment, induction, training and performance supervision of retail staff to ensure they understand store procedures and customer service expectations.
- Preparing rosters and managing staff allocation to ensure appropriate coverage during busy trading periods, weekends, public holidays and early morning operations.
- Maintaining accurate records relating to stock movement, supplier orders, sales performance, cash handling, invoices and daily financial transactions.
- Assisting with budgeting, wage control, stock control, wastage reduction and cost management to support the financial performance of the supermarket.
- Monitoring store profitability by reviewing sales, margins, wastage, shrinkage and operational expenses.
- Ensuring store cleanliness, food safety,



hygiene and product handling practices are maintained across all relevant departments.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe manual handling, hazard reporting, equipment use and incident prevention.
- Managing customer feedback, complaints and service issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Supporting the presentation and operation of additional store services such as bakery, deli, café-style offerings and Lotto where required.
- Maintaining strong communication with business owners, suppliers, staff and customers to ensure smooth store operations.
- Supporting continuous improvement in store layout, product displays, customer experience and operational systems.

Qualifications and Experience

- At least 1 year of relevant experience in retail, supermarket, grocery, convenience store or similar business operations.
- An AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a relevant field.

Hours: 38 hours per week - Full time

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
