About Us

The Aboriginal Women & Children's Crisis Service (AWCCS) is dedicated to supporting Aboriginal women and children escaping domestic and family violence. Through protected refuge and trauma-informed practices, we empower families and rebuild futures while placing cultural safety at the core of our services.

AWCCS is a culturally strong, Aboriginal community-led organisation providing crisis accommodation, outreach casework, safety planning, advocacy, and wrap-around support services to Aboriginal women and children experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Administration & Bookkeeping Officer to join our team on a part-time basis. Key duties will include:

- Managing day-to-day administrative operations

- Providing reception support including telephone enquiries, referrals and information provision

- Processing fortnightly payroll through Xero and uploading payments to CommBiz for approval

- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including RCTIs from DCJ and other funders

- Processing superannuation payments via Xero clearing house and lodging Single Touch Payroll declarations

- Reconciling CBA bank accounts, petty cash and credit card transactions

- Preparing month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting packs

- Assisting with annual budgets and monitoring actuals across job codes for funding bodies

- Supporting year-end audit preparation and liaising with auditors

- Preparing and lodging monthly ATO Activity Statements and funding financial acquittals

- Acting as CommBiz Administrator, managing user access and bank account authorities

- Coordinating office procurement,



maintenance and contractor liaison

- Assisting with Management Committee meetings, agendas and Annual Reports

- Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records

- Supporting compliance with ACNC, DCJ, ATO, audit and funding requirements

- Maintaining confidentiality and culturally safe work practices

Requirements

We are seeking a candidate who:

- Has demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, payroll and financial administration

- Is proficient in Xero, CommBiz and Microsoft Office Suite

- Has knowledge of NFP financial compliance requirements including ACNC, DCJ, ATO, audit and funding acquittals

- Has experience processing payroll, reconciliations and financial reporting

- Has administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

- Has high attention to detail and accuracy

- Has written and verbal communication skills

- Understands confidentiality, cultural safety and trauma-informed practice requirements

Highly desirable:

- Has experience within the community services or NFP sector

- Has knowledge of SCHADS Award payroll compliance
