Rewrite the Future and contribute to the operation and maintenance of essential water treatment facilities!
- Permanent full-time position available
- 9 day fortnight with RDO
- 38 hours per week
About the role
The Treatment Plant Operator plays a crucial role in the daily operation and maintenance of water treatment plants, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and delivering high-quality service to the community.
Key activities of this role include:
- Proactively manage water treatment processes with a robust focus on customer service.
- Optimise treatment performance, oversee maintenance programs, and respond to equipment failures or unusual events.
- Conduct water quality testing and inspections while ensuring compliance with operational guidelines and safety standards.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification in Fitter and Machinist/Electrician/Water Industry Operations (Certificate III level) or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Current Provide First Aid HLTAID0011 or willing to obtain
- Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HLTAID009 or willing to obtain
- Current Dam Safety Surveillance Certification or willing to obtain
- Fluoride Plant Operators Certificate or willing to obtain
- Statement of Attainment in Operate and Control Liquefied Chlorine Gas Disinfection or willing to obtain
- Current Confined Spaces Certification or willing to obtain
- Valid Construction General Induction card – SafeWork NSW or equivalent
- Proficient in swimming to perform self-rescue.

Other important information
- The commencing salary for this position is up to 73k.
Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of 85k on completion of assessment of skills and performance as well as Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions and 12% superannuation
- We have a permanent full time role available
- This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
- Successful candidates will be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus or demonstrate their immunity.
- Successful candidates will also be required to either have or willing to obtain a coxswain boat licence.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
