Mildura Graduate Registered Nurse - Collaborative Program

Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) are seeking Graduate Registered Nurses for the 2027 Mildura Collaborative Program.

About Us:

MBPH is a 172- bed (level 1) tertiary teaching hospital, offering services to both public and private patients. We are a major public referral health service for the Northern Mallee sub-region of the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria, the far west region of New South Wales, and the Riverland area of South Australia. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care and fostering professional growth for our staff.

Program Overview:

The Mildura Collaborative Graduate Nurse Program is an initiative between Mildura Base Public Hospital, Mildura Health Private Hospital and Sunraysia Community Health Services. Our Graduate Registered Nurse Program is a structured and comprehensive program that provides recent nursing graduates with the knowledge, skills and support necessary to excel in their nursing careers. The program offers a well-rounded experience, combining hands-on clinical practice, mentorship and ongoing education.

The Mildura Base Public Hospital Collaborative Registered Nurse Program offers two intakes. The first intake will commence on 25th January 2027 to 13th February 2028, and the mid-year intake will commence on 31st May 2027 to 18th June 2028. Both intakes offer part-time 0.6 or 0.8 FTE (24 hours – 32 hours per week) with option for full-time graduate positions.

Program Highlights:

- Three-week extensive Orientation program: You will undergo a thorough orientation program to familiarise yourself with our facility, policies, procedures.
- Supernumerary time at the commencement of each rotation
- Preceptorship: Each participant will be paired with an experienced nurse preceptor who will provide guidance, support, and facilitate learning throughout the program.
- Six additional paid study days to promote and encourage professional development

Clinical Streams and Rotational Options: The Collaborative Graduate Nurse Program offers three clinical streams. Successful applicants will be invited to nominate their stream preference once a position has been secured.

- Surgical / Perioperative Nursing
- 8 months at Mildura Health Private Hospital (Ward and Theatre)
- 4 months at Mildura Base Hospital
- Oncology / Acute Nursing
- 6 months at Mildura Health Private Hospital (oncology department)
- 6 months at Mildura Base Public Hospital Acute wards.
- District and Acute Nursing
- 8 months at Mildura Base Public Hospital
- 4 months at Sunraysia Community Health Services (District Nursing)

About you: You are currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing and will complete your degree in the academic year January 2026 to March 2027, and meet the PMCV- Allocation’s business rules and are eligible to apply.
