About the role

In this role, you'll work closely with the PR and Communications Manager, supporting student communications and content development across owned and earned channels.

As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for supporting our media relations, corporate communications and content development initiatives. You'll be comfortable drafting student news one minute and a government briefing the next.

Attention to detail and project management skills are essential, as this role is responsible for managing the administrative side of two significant projects each year - the BHI Student Awards as well as our Annual Report, tabled in Parliament every year.

Collaboration is important to us, so you'll be able to work closely with other teams,



using your strategic and stakeholder management skills to achieve the best outcomes possible.

With a clear understanding of our brand and values, you'll also help ensure all written content is consistent with our tone of voice and help bring other stakeholders along on our journey. Your speed, accuracy and adaptable writing will also be essential to support our issues management as they arise.

The PR and Communications team plays an integral role in BHI's student value chain by providing leadership in the development and delivery of holistic and distinctive communication services and outcomes.

This is an ongoing, full-time chance and salary is PACCT 8 $107,980.00 per annum plus 12% super.

About You

Experience

- Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism.
- Proven experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications.
- Deep understanding of the media landscape, including print, broadcast, and digital channels, with a proven history of developing media contacts.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing media campaigns, securing positive media coverage, and driving brand recognition.
- Experienced in crisis communications and issues management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences and platforms.

Problem-solving ability

- Strategic mindset, with the capability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and adapt to a rapid-paced environment.

Interpersonal skills

- Solid relationship management skills and the ability to interact, influence and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.

Project management

- Proactive and self-starting, seizes opportunities and acts upon them whilst taking responsibility for own actions.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
