Work with a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering patient‑centred community care in partnership with clients, families and experienced nurses.

The Team

- The George Town District Hospital and Community Services provide 15 acute care beds, physiotherapy, dental and podiatry services, and other visiting providers. Other services provided by the Hospital include Palliative care, Community Nursing, Home Help/Personal Care. The George Town Hospital plays a central role in the health outcomes for the community.

The Role

- The Community Nurse is accountable to and works under the general direction and guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager/Team Leader and/or Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Nurse Consultant/Clinical Nurse Specialist and receives guidance and support from other senior experienced Registered Nurses and health professionals for initiating, implementing, and evaluating quality nursing care.
- In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluate patient/client care.
- Involve patients/clients and their families/significant others in the planning and implementation of care.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive approach.

Details of appointment

Permanent, part‑time, day worker position, working 16 hours per fortnight, from 2 July 2026.

Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439–$109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.

- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Salary Packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of perks including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

- Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4%.

Requirements

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Other essential criteria as per Statement of Duties.
