New Chinese Wine Bar Opening in Darlinghurst

Lucky You Darling is a new Chinese-inspired wine bar and tapas venue opening in Darlinghurst on 1 August.

We are part of a growing hospitality group currently operating Baja Cantina locations and Angelica Mexican in Norwest, and we are now expanding into a new concept focused on Chinese wine, Chinese-inspired tapas, and contemporary regional Chinese cuisine.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. The role is an immediate start, with initial training at our existing city venue, Baja Cantina, before joining the opening team at Lucky You Darling.

We are looking for someone who is currently working as a Front of House Supervisor, Senior Waitstaff, Section Waiter, or Assistant Manager, and is ready for more responsibility, growth opportunities, and the opportunity to be part of a brand-new venue from day one.

About the Role

As part of the opening team, you will play an important role in building the service culture, guest experience, and daily operations of Lucky You Darling.

You will work closely with the management team across training, service standards, floor operations, team leadership, and venue opening preparation.

This role is ideal for someone who sees hospitality as a long-term career and is passionate about food, wine, culture, and creating memorable guest experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and supporting the front of house team during service

- Delivering warm, professional, and confident guest service

- Assisting with staff training and day-to-day team development

- Supporting smooth floor operations across lunch, dinner, and bar service

- Helping maintain high service standards and a positive team culture

- Assisting with reservations, guest enquiries, and table management

- Working with the management team during the pre-opening and opening period

- Learning and sharing knowledge of Chinese wine, cocktails, food, and the overall venue concept





- Helping create a welcoming, reliable, and well-organised workplace

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Experienced in front of house hospitality

- Currently a FOH Supervisor, Senior Waitstaff, Section Waiter, or looking to step into an Assistant Manager-style role

- Reliable, responsible, and professional

- Confident leading a small team during service

- Passionate about hospitality as a career

- Interested in different cuisines, wine, cocktails, and dining culture

- Friendly, hands-on, and guest-focused

- Able to work nights, weekends, and busy service periods

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced venue

- Keen to grow with a hospitality group

Basic wine and cocktail knowledge is required. Experience with Asian cuisine, wine bars, tapas-style dining, or current venue openings would be highly regarded, but attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are just as important.

A valid RSA and full Australian working rights are required.
