SUPPORT WORKERS WANTED – MOSMAN PARK / EAST FREMANTLE

Are you reliable, experienced and looking for meaningful long-term support work as part of a dedicated team?

An chance is available to support an engaging and determined 39-year-old man with Cerebral Palsy, currently living in his parents' home in Mosman Park and transitioning to his own home in East Fremantle.

University educated, articulate and exploring future Master's studies, he has a great sense of humour, enjoys travel, music, technology and good conversation. We are seeking committed support workers who can assist him to live an active, independent and socially connected life.

About the Role

This role is ideal for experienced support workers confident providing high-level personal care in a respectful, person-centred way.

One Person Support Duties include:

- Personal care including showering, dressing and toileting
- External catheter, bowel and PEG care
- Assistance with eating and drinking
- Manual handling, transfers and positioning using a manual hoist (one-person transfers)
- Support with therapy programs, stretching and hydrotherapy
- Assistance with work, future study and volunteering goals
- Social and community support
- Household duties including cleaning and light gardening

The successful applicants will also support the use of assistive technology. He communicates verbally and uses switch-access technology to:
- Send texts, emails and voice messages
- Control his environment (TV,



streaming services, etc.)
- Navigate his laptop and other devices

Training will be provided for PEG care, catheter and bowel care, and relevant assistive technology systems. Shifts Available A range of casual shifts are available across weekdays and weekends between:

- 6:30am – 9:00pm (negotiable)

The role is expected to expand to include 24-hour support arrangements once he transitions to his own home in East Fremantle.

Pay Rate

- Casual weekday rates from $42.00 per hour + Superannuation

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have

- Experience with one-person manual handling
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver's Licence
- Reliable vehicle

Applicants must also be willing to work under a nominated registered NDIS provider. About You The ideal applicants will:

- Be reliable, patient and self-motivated
- Have excellent communication skills
- Bring a practical, commonsense approach
- Be committed to a long-term casual role
- Have a strong work ethic and a good sense of humour
