Classification: Engineering | Robotics | Industrial Automation The Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Robotics Deployment Engineer to join a large-scale robotic fulfilment deployment at a major site in Craigieburn, Melbourne. This is a retrofit/expansion programme running approximately 32 weeks, and we need someone with previous greenfield deployment experience.
This is not an entry-level position. You'll be expected to hit the ground running, take full ownership of one or more deployment workstreams, train and mentor junior engineers on the programme, and bring proven greenfield deployment experience from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
Taking ownership of one or more major workstreams (e.g. safety fence, floor safety systems, storage pod construction, drive configuration)
Managing third-party contractors day-to-day: monitoring progress, unblocking issues, and enforcing quality standards
Training and mentoring junior engineers and engineers on-site
Reporting daily to the Project Manager and escalating issues early
Tracking progress against project milestones in a rapid-paced, deadline-driven workplace
What We're Looking For
Proven experience on at least one greenfield robotic storage or automated fulfilment deployment
Prior experience in large-scale e-commerce or fulfilment centre build programmes
Confidence managing third-party contractors and owning workstreams independently
Basic networking skills (Windows/Linux configuration, PC–Switch–Drive connectivity, troubleshooting)
Comfort in a Linux/Unix setting including command line and basic scripting
Ability to interpret CAD drawings and electrical layouts
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or construction engineering
A natural communicator who can train others and raise the capability of those around them
Working Conditions
On-site in Craigieburn, 5–6 days per week
Standard hours 08:00–17:00; some early maintenance window shifts (04:00–08:00) required
Contract duration approximately 32 weeks
