Landscape Gardener – Team Leader (Casual)

Location: Rocklea, QLD

Employment Type: Casual

Average Hours: 36 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Gardener – Team Leader to join our professional maintenance team. This is a hands-on role leading a small crew delivering high-quality lawn and garden maintenance across commercial sites.

You will lead by example on site, ensuring works are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

Standard Hours

- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm

- Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm

- Start & finish location: Rocklea

Key Duties

- Professional lawn and garden maintenance

- Leading a small crew of 1–2 team members

- Mowing, edging, pruning, hedging and general garden care

- Safe operation of small plant and equipment

- Maintaining presentation, productivity, and quality standards

- Liaising with supervisors and reporting site issues

Requirements





- Demonstrated experience as a skilled landscape gardener

- Ability to supervise and lead a small team on site

- Current Driver’s Licence and own reliable transport

- Strong work ethic and attention to detail

- Ability to start early mornings consistently

Pay & Conditions

- Award Level: Level 4 (Gardening & Landscaping Award)

- Casual employment (25% casual loading applies)

- Leading Hand Allowance for supervising 1–2 employees

Approximate weekly before-tax pay:

- Level 4 casual rate (incl. loading): ~$35.15/hr

- Leading hand allowance: ~$4.27/day

- 36 hours/week ≈ $1,269.20 per week (before tax)

Pathway to Level 5

This role is structured with a clear pathway to Level 5 classification. Progression will be considered once the employee demonstrates:

- Consistent leadership and supervision of crews across multiple sites

- Ability to plan daily works, manage productivity, and uphold quality standards

- Strong understanding of safety, equipment use, and site requirements

- Reliable attendance, professionalism, and positive client interaction

Progression to Level 5 will be subject to performance review and business requirements.
