Wagga Wagga City Council is seeking a motivated Finance & Administration Officer to support the daily operations of Wagga Leisure. In this pivotal role, you’ll bring accuracy, initiative and exceptional customer service to a fast‑paced, community‑focused environment.
You’ll handle financial processing, support merchandise operations, coordinate administrative tasks, prepare reports and correspondence, and play a key role in organising meetings, workshops and events. About this role
- Permanent, full-time position (35-hours per week).
- Remuneration package of $2,582.98 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $3,099.58 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

We’re Looking For Someone With
- Qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or similar.
- A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Experience in financial administration and cash handling.
- Strong communication, planning and computer skills.
- A cooperative mindset and the ability to work independently.
- A commitment to quality customer service and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to
- Undertake financial and cash handling responsibilities including receipting, refunds, reconciliation, petty cash and banking.
- Undertake administrative duties including processing mail and correspondence, travel arrangements, purchase requisitions etc.
- Maintain and operate Wagga Leisure’s merchandise stores including meeting sales targets, ordering stock, marketing of promotional campaigns and upskilling customer service staff.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations and promotional materials.
- Prepare agendas and minutes for meetings.
- Assist in the planning and management of workshops and events.
- Provide assistance to the Wagga Leisure team to complete administrative paperwork.
