In this role, you'll empower students to have their voices heard, support child safety initiatives, and drive meaningful change across the Schools Unit.

This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed term opportunity until 31 December 2026. Salary is $107,980 pro rata, per annum, plus 12% superannuation.

About the role Reporting to the Manager (Principal) Schools Unit, this role will lead the development and implementation of a Student Consultative Group for VCE and VPC students. You will play a key role in strengthening student voice, representation, and engagement, ensuring young people are actively involved in shaping their learning, wellbeing, and safety experiences.





Working closely with the Senior Child Safety Specialist and cross-functional teams, you will help embed student-centred practices, contribute to child safety initiatives, and ensure alignment with legislative and organisational requirements.

What you'll do:

- Establish and facilitate a Student Consultative Group to strengthen student voice and participation
- Design inclusive engagement strategies ensuring representation of diverse and vulnerable student groups
- Develop frameworks to capture and act on student feedback related to safety, wellbeing, and learning
- Create safe, accessible opportunities for students to contribute to decisions, policies, and initiatives
- Collaborate with education and student support teams to address issues and improve outcomes
- Contribute to child safety initiatives and support compliance with Child Secure Standards
- Build students' leadership, advocacy, and communication skills through structured opportunities

About You: You are passionate about amplifying young people's voices and creating safe, inclusive environments. You bring strong engagement, advocacy, and stakeholder skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a complex organisation.

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, Education, Psychology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in youth engagement, advocacy programs, or group facilitation within education or community settings
- Experience working with diverse and vulnerable young people, promoting safety and wellbeing
- Alignment with a child-safe, inclusive and values-based workplace
- Have, or be willing to obtain, Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance.
