About the role:
The Visitor Information Officer and Tour Guide position is a high-profile, front-line role providing exceptional customer service and information to visitors and actively promoting tourism opportunities in the Whyalla region, including hosting informative tours of the HMAS Whyalla and maritime museum.
Some of the duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide an informative, safe, and enjoyable tour experience to visitors to Whyalla
- Inform visitors of other Whyalla attractions promoting a proud and positive image
- Cross-promote attractions and services and encourage visitation to our great city
- Ensure that only the best possible service is delivered in a highly courteous, professional, and efficient manner
About you:
We are looking for an individual who has the following:
- A solid customer service focus with a positive, proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Sound knowledge of Whyalla and the surrounding region
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing demands
- A current South Australian Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement

The remuneration for this role is in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council's current Enterprise Agreement, commencing at Level 2 $77,706 pro rata for hours worked.
