Branch Team Leader (x 3 opportunities)
Footscray, Australia
Reference:
- 2 x Part time or Full-Time (0.8-1.0 FTE, Maribyrnong & West Footscray)
- Band 6 ($99,705.64 - $108,027.39 pro rata) + 12% super
Lead the next chapter of library services in Melbourne's inner west.

We're expanding our leadership capacity across our service. This is a rare opportunity to join us as a Team Leader, with multiple roles available resulting from internal movement & promotion. These three Branch Team Leader roles are an investment in our future, giving you the opportunity to step into a visible leadership role and help shape what contemporary library services look like in a rapidly evolving community.
The Opportunity
Join our Creative Communities team and play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional, community-focused library services.
- Shape a thriving community hub, where people feel welcome, inspired and connected
- Help drive our ambitious Library Strategic Plan, champion new ideas, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Work with the community to deliver creative programs and events, while building meaningful partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders.
- Lead a passionate and dedicated team within a progressive and supportive organisation
Your Branch Options
Footscray (Full-Time)
Lead a large team at our busiest branch which delivers a demanding seven-day service.
Play a key role in shaping the future through the exciting Creative West project. This role includes 1 in 2 Friday evening shifts and one weekend shift per quarter.
Maribyrnong (0.8-1.0 FTE)
Lead a small team in a high-traffic location near Highpoint. Build strong partnerships with the shopping centre and co-located Living Museum to create a energetic community space. This role includes 1 in 4 Thursday evening shifts and one weekend shift per quarter.
West Footscray (0.8-1.0 FTE)
Lead a close-knit team in a much-loved neighbourhood library. A warm, community-focused environment with strong engagement from local families. This role includes evening program delivery as rostered and one weekend shift per quarter.
What You'll Bring
- Experience working in a library environment and proven ability to lead, coach and motivate teams in busy service settings
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and eligibility for ALIA associate membership
- Strong capability to translate strategy into local impact
- Experience building partnerships and working collaboratively
- Confidence with collections, digital tools and information services
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for engaging diverse communities
