$99,467.18 - $104,648.04 per annum, pro rata (depending on skills, qualifications and experience).
Opportunity:
The City of Albany’s Environmental Health Team is looking for an experienced and qualified individual to take up the role of Environmental Health Officer.
Reporting to the Coordinator Health Services, this role will see you responsible for, but not limited to;
- Assisting with customer enquiries by providing advice, educational programs, and information literature on the broad range of environmental health issues.
- Liaising with various internal departments regarding environmental health matters.
- Ensuring the City of Albany meets its obligations as defined by the Acts, Regulations and local laws relating to environmental health; and
- Investigating, reporting on, and responding to complaints and legislative breaches within delegated authority.
About You:
A comprehensive knowledge of the Local Government Act, Public Health Act, Environmental Protection Act, and relevant regulations, local laws, policies, and procedures relating to environmental health is essential for this role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in preparing reports on environmental health matters, as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures.
A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in environmental health is required, along with a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or another qualification recognised for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer or authorised person.
