Band 3 - $66,966 - $70,613yearly, includes allowances, plus 12% statutory superannuation and 9-day fortnight.

Do you have a background in operating plant for maintenance and construction works? We currently have a Plant Operator position available with our Urban team, based in Maffra. If you’re experienced at operating Graders (preferable, but not essential), Excavators, Backhoes, Front-end Loaders, and Heavy Combination or Heavy Rigid vehicles, then we would love you to apply!

What your day will look like:

- Operate heavy duty machinery and provide labour for the outdoor team.
- Improve and maintain the Council’s roads, drainage, bridges and public areas.
- Complete daily maintenance and inspections of plant equipment.
- Make sure our equipment and materials are available, maintained, safe and what is needed for works.
- Provide on-call support for the Road Management & Operations team.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Proven experience in operating heavy-duty machinery and plant for general maintenance and construction works.
- Knows how to work well under pressure and work well as part of a team.
- An excellent work ethic and is committed to a safe working environment.
- Able to work unsupervised and think on their feet.
- Can communicate with a wide range of people.




- Heavy ridged/combination licence preferred or ability to obtain Heavy Combination licence.
- A current drivers’ licence
