The Role
We are searching for a passionate, skilled and qualified Early Childhood Teacher to lead our Kindergarten Program in a family-owned double service.
Position: Full Time (or 37.5 hrs PPT)
Program: Flexible, play-rich, nature-embedded learning
Team: Skilled educators + strong leadership + head office support
Extras: Additional non-contact time for curriculum planning
You will help shape a program that is intentional, reflective, and inspired by children’s interests, community connections, nature pedagogy, and Start Smart’s philosophy of slowing down, deep listening, and heart-led practice.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an ECT who embodies warmth, curiosity, professionalism, and a deep love for high-quality early education.
You will bring:
· A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent).
· A current Blue Card for working with children.
· Current First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training.
· Experience running a Kindergarten program
· Strong knowledge of the QKLG, EYLF, and NQS
· Experience running, or willingness to be trained in Bush Kindy program
· Strong leadership skills and confidence training colleagues
· Excellent communication with families
· Experience supporting children with additional needs
· A fun, friendly, outgoing presence
· Understanding of flow, rhythm, and slow pedagogy
· A genuine love for nature, community, and play-based learning
· Full-time availability
· Passion for hosting in-service family/community events
