About the role
The Salty Dog Hotel Kingston Beach is seeking an experienced and talented Chef to join our dedicated and passionate kitchen team. This full-time opportunity will see you play a key role in the daily operations of our thriving restaurant, working alongside our Head Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and cooking high-quality meals using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
- Assisting with menu planning and development to ensure we continue to offer innovative and delicious dishes
- Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Effectively managing your team of kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding customer service
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and implementing current cooking techniques and recipes
What we're looking for
- Formal culinary training and a minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Chef in a similar hospitality environment
- Extensive experience on grill and/or fryer section
- Strong technical cooking skills and a passion for creating delectable dishes
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Enthusiasm for keeping up with industry trends and a willingness to experiment with new recipes and techniques
