Job Description

VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Accountant to be a part of our client’s business Northcote. Our client offers a great working environment and a competitive salary for the right candidate. Objective of the Position

- To provide professional accounting, taxation and advisory services to clients of the accounting firm

To ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory and taxation requirements, and delivery of high-quality accounting solutions

- To support clients and senior accountants/partners with reliable financial information and advice.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for clients.
- Prepare and lodge taxation returns, including income tax, BAS, IAS, GST, and other statutory obligations.
- Provide accounting, taxation, and business advisory services to a diverse client base.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, bank accounts, and subsidiary accounts.
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, ASIC requirements, and other statutory reporting obligations.
- Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and financial investigations as required.
- Advise clients on business structures, tax planning, and financial efficiency strategies.
- Liaise with the ATO, ASIC, banks, and other regulatory or financial institutions on behalf of clients.
- Implement, maintain,



and support accounting systems and digital bookkeeping platforms.
- Identify accounting issues, assess financial risks, and provide practical recommendations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and working papers in accordance with firm policies.
- Support partners and senior staff with client management and advisory engagements.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as an Accountant (General) or similar role within an accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, Australian taxation, and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines in a qualified services environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.

Qualifications / Experience

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 relevant experience in public practice or professional accounting services.
- Working knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and compliance requirements.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, communication, and client relationship skills.

Accountable to: Business Owner Performance Appraisal: Three months after appointment, then at least annually and/or as required. Remuneration: $102,000 Location: Unit 1 148 Arthurton Rd NORTHCOTE VIC 3070 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours: 38 hours per week
