Job Description

Outback Poly Products is an Australian-owned family business based in Mitchell, Queensland, that designs and manufactures durable polyethylene products. The company specializes in rotationally molded plastic goods built to withstand the tough conditions of the Australian outback. We are seeking experienced and qualified MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN to join our team of professionals.

We are looking for trustworthy and reliable individuals with integrity, have a strong commitment to teamwork and will positively contribute to the success of our organisation. Your duties will include but are not limited to: Maintaining and repairing equipment

Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers Conduct root cause analysis, fault-finding and diagnosing efficient solutions to machine breakdowns Troubleshoot mechanical issues

Installs, removes, inspects and repairs mechanical spare parts like bearings, seals on typical mechanical equipment Performs major overhaul of equipment with or without external contractors and vendors Disassembles, assembles, observes, repairs, tests, collects data and prepares reports on equipment, as tasks related to maintenance

Maintaining non-electrical safety, process and utility equipment Perform power plant rigging, and lifting equipment necessary for safely handling heavy machinery and materials Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machines





Troubleshoot process equipment, automation issues that may arise at the manufacturing line Ensuring that products meet compliance regulations Carry out work instructions as given by Supervisor, work specifications, equipment operation

Supports improvement projects Fabricates and repair metal products and parts by using machine shop tools and equipment Controls downtime by performing routine preventative maintenance requirements, daily equipment inspections, and monitoring machine operational performance

Perform duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures Installing and commissioning new equipment as directed Communicating with and supporting engineers

Understand customer change request and provide schedule Documenting machine safety and maintenance To be considered for this role, you must have:

Trade Qualifications and +5 years proven relevant experience Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment Strong knowledge of troubleshooting technique and problem-solving skills

Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks Physically fit and able to work in various conditions

Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment Robust communication skills Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
