- LGO 4 ($79,413 - $85,123 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the Role

This role is responsible for conducting investigations, inspections, and approvals under state and local laws. You’ll work across a broad range of areas including:

- Animal management, including the handling of animals and promoting responsible pet ownership
- Public health and safety
- Unauthorised use of Council land and footpath obstructions
- Other Local Law matters





You’ll be part of a collaborative team that supports Council’s purpose of Growing Townsville, delivering outcomes aligned with our Corporate Plan and community expectations.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has a robust understanding of relevant legislation and local laws
- Can investigate and compile evidence for enforcement and prosecution
- Is confident working independently and making sound decisions
- Is comfortable handling domesticated animals and potentially aggressive dogs
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person
- Skilled in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
- Is flexible to work after-hours and on a rostered schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid Queensland “C” Class driver’s licence – Essential
- Certificate IV or Diploma in a relevant field – Obtainable

- First Aid Certificate
