**About the role**
**The Orange Door Barwon Colac Access Point - Intake and Client Support Officer**
- Permanent Part Time
- 32 hours per week
- Colac Area Health is a values-based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.
- The Intake and Client Support Officer (ICSO) provides essential support to the day-to-day functions of The Orange Door Colac Access Point. The role is responsible for referral screening, information management, and administrative coordination to ensure that all referrals are logged, prioritised, and prepared for practitioner allocation in line with The Orange Door (The Orange Door (TOD) policies and Colac Area Health (CAH) procedures) statewide policies and Colac Area Health (CAH) organisational procedures.
- The position supports practitioners by managing referral data, completing legislative information-sharing tasks (CISS/FVISS), and preparing intake documentation. It plays a key role in ensuring practitioners can focus on client-facing objectives by handling administrative requirements and ensuring accurate, risk-informed referral processes.
- The ICSO contributes to system accountability and service planning by undertaking data collection, KPI monitoring, audit preparation, and report generation. The role also represents the Access Point in professional liaison with partner agencies and local networks, supporting collaboration and compliance across the service system.
- This role does not provide direct client services. Instead, it ensures the effective functioning of intake systems, supports practitioners, and upholds legislative and organisational standards in all information-sharing and referral processes.
**What’s required?**
- Qualification and/or experience in welfare or other relevant community services
- Proven experience in establishing working relationships with stakeholders, clients and other service providers.
- Experience in providing high quality, supportive and effective service delivery including the ability to provide accurate and up-to-date information to clients and stakeholders.
- Able to quickly identify options and reach an informed conclusion; actively seeks out solutions and pathways to improve client outcomes and service experience.
- Demonstrates competent administration and organisational skills, including database entry and records maintenance.
- Establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels.
- Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of team goals.
- A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and police check
