URGENT | Casual Support Workers – SIL Home | Southport, QLD

As our services continue to expand, we are seeking experienced Casual Support Workers to support participants living in one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes located in Southport.
About the Role
We are recruiting casual support staff to work across a flexible 24/7 SIL roster, including day, afternoon, evening, and sleepover shifts.
The SIL property supports multiple male participants with complex and high-intensity needs, including:
- Diabetes
- Schizophrenia
- Reduced mobility and personal care needs
This role requires workers who are confident, calm, and experienced in managing high-intensity and mental health participants within a SIL environment.
Experience with Diabetes Management is highly preferred.
Key Role Details
- Employment Type: Casual
- Location: Southport, QLD
- Setting: Supported Independent Living (SIL) – 24/7 roster
- Shifts Available: Daytime, evening, and overnight inactive sleepovers
- Availability Required: Minimum 4 days per week
- Start Date: Immediate start
- Proximity Requirement: Applicants must live within reasonable proximity to Southport
Key Responsibilities
- Providing consistent, respectful, and person-centred support
- Assisting with personal care, mobility,
and daily living activities
- Supporting participants with diabetes management as directed
- Supporting participants with mental health needs, including schizophrenia
- Promoting independence, routine, and community participation
- Maintaining a safe, stable, and supportive SIL environment
- Completing accurate documentation, shift notes and incident reporting in line with NDIS standards
- Upholding participant confidentiality, dignity, and rights at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience supporting participants with:
- Diabetes
- Mental health conditions (including schizophrenia)
- Previous experience working in SIL or 24/7 supported environments
- Ability to work across flexible shifts, including sleepovers
- Minimum availability of 4 days per week
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Calm, reliable, and professional approach to care
- Strong understanding of boundaries, confidentiality, and duty of care
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
- Blue Card
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Proven experience in high-intensity support.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, safety, and participant well-being.
