Role Summary
Australian Red Cross are partnering with the Port Pirie Regional Council for a Closet Cleanout event on Sunday, 1 March 2026. This is a fun and exciting opportunity to get involved with your community and build your skills.
We are participating in a drive-thru donation event to accept preloved clothing from the community of Port Pirie and surrounding areas. Get involved with the community and help divert goods from landfill by volunteering with Red Cross at this one-day outdoor event. Donations collected will help Red Cross Shops raise funds for the humanitarian work of Australian Red Cross, supporting people facing tough times in our communities.
The Program
Red Cross Shops sell new and donated clothes, accessories and homewares to raise funds to help people in need. Each year, we rescue 2750 tonnes of clothing from landfill, give opportunities to 5000 volunteers, and generate funds to help Red Cross support vulnerable people in Australia and around the world. The proceeds from the sale of items support the vital everyday work of Red Cross, providing relief in times of crisis and care where it's needed most.
