Are you a confident leader with a talent for coordinating people, programs and processes to keep the City of Swan running smoothly? We’re seeking an experienced Coordinator Engineering Maintenance to take charge of our dedicated Engineering Maintenance team and ensure our community’s infrastructure is secure, reliable and well‑maintained.

In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance across the City’s extensive infrastructure portfolio, ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with City policies and procedures. You’ll champion a culture of exceptional safety and customer service, as well as guide your team to meet quality standards, timelines and budget expectations.

You will oversee the development and implementation of a range of planned maintenance programs, providing robust reporting and data insights that support evidence‑based decision‑making. Your expertise in procurement will shine as you prepare high‑quality tender specifications, manage purchasing processes and administer contracts to ensure best‑value outcomes for the community.

As a strategic thinker, you will also contribute to long‑term resource planning within the Construction & Maintenance team—helping shape a sustainable, future‑focused engineering maintenance service for our growing City.

Key Accountabilities

- Lead the planned and reactive maintenance for approximately $1.6 billion of City infrastructure assets through a wide range of different maintenance tasks including (but not limited to); concrete works, asphalt works, open drainage, piped drainage, bridges, street sweeping, signage, linemarking, electrical, public art and City‑wide weed spraying.
- Provide and lead the engineering maintenance team to deliver outstanding customer service at all times and effectively manage customer expectations.
- Ensure Safety is the forefront of all works undertaken across the team. Continue to develop and reinforce an outstanding safety culture within the team.
- Provide input into the planning and preparation of annual budgets & monitor expenditure through work order and financial reporting.
- Prepare quality tender specifications and lead purchasing and contract administration requirements within the team.

Candidate Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering




- Demonstrated engineering technical experience, including knowledge of civil infrastructure failure mechanisms and viable solutions
- Well‑developed leadership and management skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgetary constraints
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, tendering and contract administration
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate
- C Class Drivers Licence

The salary for this position will be from $126,154.59 – $146,964.04 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.

- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships, translate technical information for diverse audiences, and resolve complex enquiries effectively.
