Women’s Pastor

(Part-Time – 4 Days/Week)

Location:

Berkeley Life Centre (BLC), Berkeley NSW

Affiliation: Anglican Church under Evangelism and New Churches (ENC)

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Our Vision

At Berkeley Life Centre, our prayer is to see lives eternally changed by Jesus. Since our beginning in 2008, BLC has sought to see the Berkeley community transformed through the gospel, authentic relationships, and compassionate practice.

As we prepare to launch new ministries for women and men in 2026, this is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate, mission-minded team committed to seeing Berkeley thrive to God’s glory.

The Ministry Context
Berkeley is a resilient and diverse community in the Illawarra marked by both deep need and deep potential. Many families face challenges such as generational hardship, social disadvantage, and broken relationships — yet the hunger for hope, belonging, and transformation is strong.

Our Commitment to Compassionate Practice

At Berkeley Life Centre, we seek to see and serve people through a Gospel lens. We call this Compassionate Practice — being intentionally present with people in their everyday circumstances, sharing in their experiences, and building genuine relationships and bringing the gospel message of forgiveness, love and hope in Jesus to all.

We strive to reflect Christ’s love in both word and deed, embodying the gospel in a way that is meaningful, authentic, and transformative. We recognise the deepest need in every human heart is to be reconciled with God through Jesus and find forgiveness, healing and eternal hope. Our heart is to raise up local disciples and leaders who will bring gospel renewal to
their homes, streets, and networks.

Serving here means walking alongside people with compassion, patience, and authenticity — and seeing firsthand the beauty of God’s grace at work in unexpected places.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a theologically trained,

suitably qualified woman to join our team as Women’s Pastor (4 days per week).

This role provides strategic and pastoral leadership in two key areas:

1. Women’s Ministry – leading and discipling women within the church.

2. Women’s Mission (Evangelism) – reaching and engaging women in the local community with the hope of Jesus and opportunities for growth and transformation.

Additionally, this role includes involvement in assisting members at BLC identify gifts and areas of service and so help shape how BLC serves both one another and our wider community through volunteering and service teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Women’s Mission (Evangelism)

- Lead and develop the overall Women’s Mission area.
- Build missional pathways connecting women from the Second Chance Op-Shop and the wider community into church life.
- Equip and inspire women to share the gospel in their homes, workplaces, and within our local community.
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to develop creative and contextual outreach opportunities for women in Berkeley.
- Model a relational, prayerful, and Scripture-grounded evangelistic lifestyle.

2. Women’s Ministry (Discipleship & Care)

- Lead the vision and direction for women’s discipleship and pastoral care.
- Foster a culture of genuine, gospel-shaped relationships among women at BLC.
- Oversee small groups, mentoring, and Bible study initiatives for women.
- Train and equip female leaders for ongoing discipleship and ministry.
- Partner with the wider ministry team and community organisations to ensure care and discipleship are holistic and intergenerational (women, youth, and children).

3. Ministry Department (Serving Others)

- Help shape and oversee the culture, systems, and pathways that disciple people through serving.
- Recruit, train,

and support volunteers across ministry teams.
- Encourage a servant-hearted culture that reflects Christ’s humility and love.
- Assist with leadership development initiatives within BLC.

About You

You are someone who:

- Has a genuine love for Jesus and a passion to see others come to know Him.
- Holds Reformed, Evangelical convictions aligned with Sydney Anglican theology.
- Has theological training (minimum Diploma of Theology or equivalent).
- Brings experience in evangelism, discipleship, and pastoral care among women.
- Demonstrates humility, maturity, and emotional intelligence in relationships.
- Leads with a servant-hearted and team-oriented spirit — both gentle and strong.
- Is a strategic thinker, able to cast vision, raise leaders, and influence culture.
- Is adaptable, able to remain calm and constructive when plans change or challenges arise.
- Is organised and able to lead people and programs in a ministry context and maintain appropriate records
- Is discrete and maintains confidentialities
- Handles conflict in a Christ-like manner, with grace and wisdom.
- Has a sense of humour and joy in ministry!

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Experience working in a church or parachurch ministry context.
- Proven ability to lead teams and develop others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cross-culturally and with people from diverse backgrounds (essential for the Berkeley context).
- Confidence in handling Scripture and teaching in both small and large group settings.
- Current Safe Ministry and Working with Children clearances as required by the Diocese.
- Meets the requirements for Authorisation or Ordination within the Diocese.
