Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Financial Services team. This permanent part-time position (20 hours per week) plays an key role in ensuring accurate billing, effective debtor management, and the smooth operation of accounts receivable processes across the School.
The Accounts Receivable Officer works closely with the Accounts Receivable & Payroll Team Leader and contributes to high-quality financial operations that support the School’s Purpose and Concerns.
Key Focus Areas
Invoicing & Account Maintenance
- Prepare and process invoices for tuition fees, levies, scholarships, bursaries, and authorised sundry charges.
- Maintain and update accounts receivable information using Synergetic and MYOB Advanced.
- Calculate repayment plans and annual direct debit amounts.
Reconciliation & Ledger Management
- Complete daily bank reconciliations and end-of-month account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile student sub-ledgers and assist with general ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare and post required journals.
Debtor Management & Collections
- Manage accounts receivable collections in collaboration with the Team Leader.
- Respond to queries, resolve discrepancies, and manage the Accounts Receivable fees inbox.
Reporting & Team Support
- Prepare financial reports and external surveys as required.
- Provide relief and support to the Payroll & Accounts Receivable Team Leader.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

Essential Requirements
- Understanding of the 10 National Child Safe Standards.
- Strong experience in MYOB and accounts receivable processes, including debtor management.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workflow in a deadline-driven environment.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work safely in a school environment and meet the inherent requirements of the role.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People registration (employment) and a recent National Police Check.
