Sun Agriculture Pty Ltd is an established Quality Agricultural Products wholesaler based in Wangara Western Australia, in the business of trading seeds and fertilisers.
As our business continues to grow, we are expanding our domestic footprint and delivering greater value to growers through the introduction of innovative vegetable seed varieties. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Seed Trial Officer.
This dynamic role requires strong technical expertise in trial planning, implementation, evaluation, and accurate data recording. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, passionate about agriculture, and comfortable working in outdoor environments. Flexibility is essential, as the position involves travel and occasional overnight stays (1–2 days) to support trial activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible conducting trials and experiments of different vegetable seed varieties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market evaluations and prepare crop requirement sheets to guide variety selection.
- Planning and preparation of the trial layouts
- Implement field experiments and oversee all trial activities from setup to completion.
- Identify and arrange trial locations, including sourcing reference variety samples.
- Coordinate seedling production and manage transportation to trial sites.
- Monitoring plant growth and development from establishment to harvest
- Collect and analyse harvest data, comparing performance against reference varieties.
- Diagnose pest and disease issues, and assess nutrient deficiencies on-site or through external laboratories to inform future sample requests and alternative trial locations
- Record trial data accurately and prepare comprehensive technical reports to support variety selection and marketing strategies.
- Providing training on selected variety for introduction to sales team and relevant growers
- Operate machinery and equipment,
including forklifts, as required.
- Travelling and working independently as required, representing the company professionally
- communication with procurement team for sourcing suitable seed varieties
- Organize field days and engage growers to introduce selected varieties
- Arranging field days and grower engagement for introduction of the selected varieties
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field
- 8-10 years of experience in vegetable seed trials including planning, implementation and evaluation
- Strong technical expertise combined with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
- Positive “can-do” attitude with a commitment to ethical work practices
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Physically fit and willing to meet the demands of outdoor trial work.
- Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours when required.
- A valid manual vehicle license (Essential)

Work Location: In person – Location Wangara with travelling to trial locations as required
Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
