Executive Chef – Coolum Surf Club

Coolum Surf Club is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our members and guests. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on kitchen administration and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing seasonal menus that meet customer expectations while maintaining strong gross profit margins. You will monitor supplier pricing, negotiate for best value, and ensure accurate stocktaking and inventory control to minimize waste and optimize efficiency. A key part of the role involves managing rosters and wage costs to align with budget requirements, while providing clear leadership and direction to the kitchen team.
You will foster a positive and professional working workplace, train and mentor staff, and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations. In addition to these administrative responsibilities,
you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and quality control. Collaboration with management on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning is essential, as is maintaining robust supplier relationships and driving innovation and consistency in menu offerings.
To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar leadership position, strong financial acumen with expertise in menu costing and wage control, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
