Job Description

Mehar Foods Aus Pty Ltd is a growing bakery and food production business located in Springvale, specialising in high-quality pastries, baked goods, and culturally inspired sweet and savoury items. We focus on consistency, traditional preparation methods, and the use of fresh, premium ingredients. With increased production demand and expanding customer orders, we are now seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team.

Location: 42 Garnsworthy St, Springvale VIC 3171 Position: Pastry Cook – Full-Time Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation

About the Role The Pastry Cook will assist in preparing, baking, and finishing a wide range of pastries, dough products, and specialty baked items. You will support daily production routines, maintain consistent product quality, and ensure the bakery operates smoothly during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities 1. Prepare, mix, and bake pastry products including doughs, fillings, and specialty baked goods. 2. Follow recipes, production instructions, and portion sizes to ensure consistency across batches.

3. Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters safely and efficiently. 4.



Decorate and finish pastries following company quality standards. 5. Monitor ingredient freshness and maintain correct food storage and labelling.

6. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in all food preparation areas. 7. Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and ordering baking supplies when required. 8. Follow all WHS, food handling, and hygiene requirements.

9. Support daily production schedules to meet customer and wholesale order timelines. Skills & Experience 1. Certificate III or IV in Patisserie, Commercial Cookery, or Baking (or equivalent qualification).

2. Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker in a commercial kitchen or bakery. 3. Robust understanding of pastry techniques, dough handling, and baking processes. 4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.

5. Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment. 6. Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and consistent product quality. How to Apply
