Role: Facilities Officer
Status: Part Time - 4 days per week, likely to increase to full time
Location: Mancel College @ Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane (with occasional travel to other LDA sites)
Role Commencing: As soon as possible

As a Facilities Officer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining our grounds and facilities to the highest standard. You’ll ensure our spaces are safe, clean, and well-presented, supporting the daily operations of the College and contributing to an environment where excellence can flourish.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As our Facilities Officer, you will:

- Assist with swimming pool operations (water testing, chemical adjustments, record-keeping).

- Coordinate and monitor external maintenance services (e.g., pest control, carpet cleaning).

- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables.

- Uphold WHS standards, including safe chemical handling and hazard reporting.

- Communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and tradespeople to ensure timely repairs and support.

WHAT YOU WON’T DO:

- You won’t be expected to manage teaching or classroom activities; your focus is on facilities and grounds.

- You won’t work alone without support, our Facilities Manager and team will provide guidance and resources.

- You won’t be responsible for large-scale construction projects; this role focuses on maintenance and upkeep.

- You won’t compromise safety, our policies and procedures ensure you have the right tools and training.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

- Relevant experience in facilities, maintenance, or groundskeeping roles.

- Practical skills in repair, horticulture, and secure equipment operation.

- Knowledge of WHS standards and chemical safety protocols.

- A current Blue Card or willing to obtain.





- C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory).

- Certificate III in Horticulture, Landscaping, or Building Maintenance (highly regarded).

- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and ability to work independently.
