Bamyan Lawyers PTY LTD on behalf of VIC METAL RECYCLERS is hiring a Full time Motor Mechanic/Dismantler in Laverton North, VIC. Apply now to be part of our team.
In this role you will be responsible for but not limited to:
1. Perform routine vehicle components and engine diagnostics of damaged or old vehicles that arrive to the warehouse:
• You will dismantle the vehicles we receive and diagnose what components can be salvaged (Especially engines).
• Once you diagnose the components that can be salvaged, you will need to perform the following tasks to prepare the salvaged parts for resale:
a. Perform vehicle maintenance and servicing, including oil changes, brake inspections, and engine diagnostics, across a variety of prestige vehicles.
b. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
c. Replace or repair defective components, including engines, brakes, steering systems, and suspension parts.
d. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations,
ensuring compliance in every aspect of mechanical work.
e. Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed, effectively communicating details with the service team regarding costs and timelines.
f. Keep tools and workshop equipment in optimal condition while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
g. Provide exceptional customer service by clearly explaining repair processes and addressing customer inquiries when needed.
h. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in automotive technology and diagnostic techniques to enhance service quality.
2. Assess the vehicles components that can be resale in Australia and overseas.
The successful applicants must have:
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Dismantler and Motor Mechanic.
• Excellent communication skills, dealing with both customers and management.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Persian (Dari, Farsi) and English - Highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for detecting faults in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Knowledge of various vehicle makes and models, including petrol and diesel engines.
• Physically fit to remove and refit major components using workshop equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Solid communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and report findings on customer vehicles in a timely manner.
• Experience with Holden, Ford, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda, KIA, VW, Mitsubishi and Nissan vehicles is highly desirable.
