Based in Bourke, or as outreach from Dubbo, this unique dual role spans Community Midwifery and Aboriginal Maternal & Infant Health Services, allowing you to deliver truly holistic, culturally responsive care to women and babies across the Bourke district.
This is not a ward-based role. This is midwifery in its purest, most impactful form—built on relationships, trust, continuity and community.
? About the Role
As a Community Midwife, you will:
- Build meaningful relationships with local women and families
- Provide antenatal education and birth preparation
- Deliver postnatal care for the first 10 days after birth, primarily through home visits
- Support mothers with:
- Infant feeding
- Settling and sleep
- Parenting and self-care
- Work in line with the needs, expectations and aspirations of the women in your care
- Play an important role within Aboriginal Maternal & Infant Health Services, delivering culturally safe, continuity-of-care support
