Are you a hands-on Maintenance Technician with leadership experience looking to take the next step? Join our dynamic team and work as the second-in-charge of our branch engineering team, supporting equipment, processes, and safety while mentoring a skilled engineering crew.
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering or Branch Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring plant equipment runs safely and efficiently. You’ll lead maintenance activities, support process improvements, manage facilities and utilities, and coach your team to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start-up, shutdown, and maintenance of plant equipment, including boilers.
- Preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
- Leading and coaching the engineering team.
- Supporting equipment procurement, spare parts management, and process improvement initiatives.
- Conducting risk assessments and contributing to Secure Work Procedures (SWPs).
- Supporting LEAN manufacturing initiatives, including 5S.
- Managing and coordinating external contractors.
What We’re Looking For:
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification (essential).
- Valid Driver’s License; Forklift and Boiler Licenses desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, read technical drawings, and understand equipment operations.
- Proven leadership experience in a similar maintenance or manufacturing role.
- Knowledge of AUS/NZ standards, LEAN principles, and workplace safety systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office and engineering monitoring software.
