Senior Economic Development Officer – City of Greater Dandenong
Band 6 – $99,846 – $108,835 per annum (plus super). Temporary full‑time position until 30 June 2027. Based in Greater Dandenong, 35 km southeast of Melbourne.

About the Role
Join a team that supports key industries and attracts new investment. As a Senior Economic Development Officer you will drive the department’s marketing and communications activities and lead projects that deliver growth and prospect.
Responsibilities
- Support marketing & communication strategy, including content development, brand management, digital engagement and campaign analysis.
- Collaborate with the existing Senior Economic Development Officer (Marketing) to ensure cohesive marketing, manage e‑newsletters, social media channels, and lead business and employment projects.
- Work with the Growth and Investment team to develop campaigns that promote the Council as a great place to live, work, visit, and invest.
- Build industry relationships through site visits, stakeholder meetings, networking, and support business network events.
- Provide insights by monitoring market trends and gathering economic intelligence to inform strategic projects.
- Coordinate with the Council’s Media and Communications team to ensure consistent branding and high‑quality campaigns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, and brand strategy, ideally within an economic development or business context.
- Experience working in an economic development team or strong understanding of the sector and its role in supporting local business and investment.
- Strong writing and creative skills to develop compelling content and implement campaigns.
- Event coordination experience to support business engagement activities.
- Strong research and analytical skills to provide actionable insights on industry trends and campaign results.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and networking skills, with the ability to foster partnerships and drive collaboration.
- Project management expertise and the ability to deliver initiatives on time and within budget.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, communications, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
