Is spending more time outside your passion? Do you love living in the South West and the beautiful bushland we have? Do you have a passion for the environment and want to leave a positive legacy for future generations.
The City of Busselton is looking for a team of volunteers to help care for City managed reserves or join an existing Friends of Reserves group. With 15 active Friends of Reserve groups across the district, chances are that there is one nearby to join.
Volunteers will learn how to identify native flora and weeds, spot native animals and how to care for native ecosystems. There is the chance to care for multiple reserves, reserves close to where you live or key conservation priorities, such as Ambergate and Carbanup Reserves. These two reserves support a multitude of endangered flora and fauna and represent snapshots into the Busselton district prior to clearing.

- Weeding
- Grant applications
- Maintaining paths
- Brushing
- Learning to identify native flora and fauna
Volunteers will be assisted by City Environmental Officers. A general level of fitness is required but vests (and some tools) will be provided by the City. You’ll have to bring along your own personal gear that you don’t really want to share, such as long pants, enclosed shoes, gloves and hats.
Commitment
Regular – more than 6 months. Your level of commitment is completely up to you, whether you want to get out every day or once a month.
