About the Opportunity:
As a Leading Hand Construction Maintenance , you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the Shire’s roads and infrastructure. This position requires a proactive leader who can inspire a team, work autonomously, and operate plant and equipment safely and responsibly.
You will:
- Lead and motivate a team in day-to-day operations.
- Operate and maintain heavy and small plant equipment.
- Ensure workplace safety and compliance with Work Health & Safety standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent the Shire positively.
- Support training initiatives to build a multi-skilled workforce and enable your team.
- Be flexible to part-take in the call out roster.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in maintenance and construction.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with heavy and small plant equipment.
- Sound knowledge of workplace safety and health.
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour.
Qualifications
- HR Driver’s Licence – Required
- HC Licence – Desirable
- Plant Operating Tickets - Preferred

Hours:
Full-time 76 hours per fortnight – 9 day fortnight
Salary:
$72,852 per annum, plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions. Other perks include a Leading Hand Allowance, adverse working conditions allowance, and mobile phone allowance.
